KitTM Direct-Drive Conversion is
a simple, high quality
option to convert your
bicycle. It's 500W direct-drive motor does not
include
internal gearing to repair or replace and
it's capable of very high top speeds.
Because
of it's lack of gearing, it's larger and heavier than
a geared
motor, but it will require almost no
maintenance. Run this kit at 36V
or 48V* Don't waste your money on a cheap

use with a 36V battery, but it's capable of running
at 48V. Although this
will provide higher top speeds (between 24-28 mph), it will exceed Federal Laws
and your bike may become classified as a 'motor vehicle'. At 36V this kit falls
within the power and speed limitations established by the U.S.
Federal Electric Bike Law, and in most states, no license or insurance
is required. For front hub kits, be sure you have a very strong fork made of steel.
This motor has the potential to rip from the dropouts of an aluminum fork.
