We've sold lots of electric bike kits this year, but we haven't done many conversions at the shop. Guess that's because we have such a nice selection of pre-built electric bikes to choose from and in-store customers usually shy away from conversion kits. But this particular customer wanted his e-bike to be as "stealth" (and as inconspicuous) as possible for his commute in Downtown Detroit. Although his old spray-painted Mongoose mountain bike won't attract much attention, it's still a clean, high-quality install:
We installed a 26" (Rear) Amped Direct-Drive Conversion Kit, along with a rear rack and battery bag. The controller fit perfectly into the top compartment and we cut a hole to feed all the wiring into the main part of the bag where the 36V/10AH LiFePo4 battery was installed. Simple and clean install that should be a great "stealth" commuter ;)
