Dear People,
I’m writing to warn you about the Izip Tricruiser, and Moorlarge, the warranty company servicing it in the UK, in case you are selling it or are thinking about selling it. I purchased one recently and am having to sell it at a substantial loss. I was assured by the staff at Cycle Lane in Glasgow that the Tricruiser is suitable for hilly roads in a rural area. It isn’t at all. Anything more than an occasional low-grade hill severely reduces the range, to under eight miles. In addition, the trike is dangerously unstable on rural roads because of their crosswise curve, with sides of the road lower than the middle. The trike is only safe on completely flat roads. I found out from Moorlarge after my purchase that other customers had complained about its limited range in hilly areas. The quality of the workmanship is also low; mine arrived with an immediate fault – an electrical cable burned out on my first ride. It took me two months of badgering to get the warranty company, Moorlarge, to fix it, and in the end they had it repaired by a motorcycle mechanic with no training or experience of any kind with the tricycle or its electrical system, and he only partially fixed it. Moorlarge refused to do any further work or test the trike appropriately. The mechanic stated categorically that the trike is only suitable on flat roads. I am unable to use the trike at all in my rural hilly area.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Janet,
Thanks for your review of the IZIP Tricruiser. Although it's not the best review I've read, if
the salesman who sold you this product gave you accurate information about it's capabilities, you probably wouldn't be so disappointed with it. To start out, I would have definitely never recommend this model for riding in rural areas.
Secondly, I would have asked you about the amount of hills and your expectations. We always let customers know that hills have an impact on range (along with other factors). I've personally tested this model for 17 miles on flat terrain (with no pedaling). With moderate hills, I would say it's capable of 10-12 miles for the average rider. So if you're getting less than 8 miles, either you have lots of very steep hills, or it's possible the battery was sitting too long and needed to be replaced. It's not uncommon for batteries to sit in a warehouse for a year or more. Since SLA batteries have a shelf-life, this could have reduced the capacity of the battery. If so, it should have been covered by warranty.
Not sure why you're dealing with a "warranty company". This product has a manufacturer's warranty that should have been honored by the dealer who sold you the product. They should have had access to all the parts and should have been able to make the necessary repairs. At eCo Wheelz, we do this all in-house.eCo Wheelz - Electric Bikes & Scooters
